Preparation for the Interview |
This page is intended just to give a few bullet points in the basics of preparing for your interview. If you are attending an interview that has been arranged by Apps IT then we will of course fully brief you on the position and job specification beforehand, but this page will still cover the basics:
- It is essential you do some research on the company that you are interviewing with; this will give you an insight to the industries they deal in, locations they work in and generally give you a total overview of the environment
- If you have a face-to-face interview be sure to check the journey in advance, including train times if needed, and allow additional time for delays
- Always take a copy of your CV with you, just in case your interviewer forgets their copy
- Take any references you may have, this shows you are confident in your ability to do a good job
- Unless told otherwise, always assume that you should wear a suit/ business dress. It’s an old cliché, but first impressions do count and many interviewers will have an opinion of the candidate in the first 30 seconds
- Body posture and eye contact are important. Maintain both a good posture and comfortable eye contact - it shows you are interested and have appropriate confidence in your abilities
- Always prepare for the difficult question, but also prepare to ask good questions yourself
Again, an Apps IT Recruitment Consultant will be happy to discuss any aspects of the interview process with you.
